The gospel is good news
What is the gospel?
A summary of that good news we believe:
- God created everything and it was perfect. (Genesis 1:31)
- Adam and Eve (the first man and woman He made) disobeyed God which is called sin. (Genesis 3)
- Sin is why the world is broken, sad, and hard. We try to escape that brokenness but we cannot. (Romans 8:22-23)
- Sin also separates us from life with God. (Isaiah 59:2)
- God is loving and gracious to people who He made (John 3:16, Exodus 34:6)
- But God is also just, He must punish sin. (Deuternomy 32:4, Romans 6:23)
- So God the Father sent His Son Jesus to earth. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross for our sins and He was raised from the dead on the third day. (Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 15:3)
- If you will receive what Jesus did for you, you can know God and have eternal life! (Philppians 3:10, Romans 6:23)
- The Bible calls us to repent (turn from your sin) and trust in Christ. (Mark 1:15)
